Arizona Parents Can Tune in for the LIVE Lottery

What would you do if you had a winning lottery ticket in your hand? Most of us would try to use the winnings to make some sort of positive change in our life. Something that will have the greatest impact on our future. That’s exactly what families throughout the Valley are thinking about as we prepare for the annual Great Hearts Arizona Enrollment Lottery. The LIVE broadcast event will show families who submitted an application during the open enrollment period their chances of receiving an offer for the 2024-2025 school year at one of our academies. This LIVE broadcast will take place on January 18^th, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM (MST) on YouTube and Facebook. Please refer to the event rundown below to find out what time you should tune in.

Vice President of Operations, Lyn Music, and Arizona Enrollment Manager, Stephanie Eck, will be there to guide you through the 2.5 hour program and introduce invaluable information about each of our academies, ESS programs, Athenaeum after-school programs, upper school programs, and lower school programs, along with special guests.

Eck will be working on and off camera during the lottery, ensuring everything runs smoothly for the anticipating families. “The Great Hearts Lottery is an exciting time for new families hoping to receive that offer of enrollment for next school year,” said Eck. “Parents want the best for their student and believe that Great Hearts is that opportunity. The lottery is the beginning of that process for their path and future.”

Any application that was submitted during the open enrollment period is eligible for a lottery. When academies receive more applications than there are seats available, an academy/grade independent lottery is held to determine the waitlist order. The lottery assigns a random number to each application and the applications are ordered on the waitlist based on the lottery number, application type, and priority status.

Did you miss the open enrollment deadline? No need to worry. We accept applications throughout the year. It’s never too late to submit an application at https://greathearts.schoolaxis.com/.

During the lottery, make sure you have your assigned student ID number in hand as this number will appear on the screen instead of names to protect your privacy. The academy waitlists are ordered based on application type and any applicable priority status such as sibling or transfer priority. Applicants may move up or down the waitlist following the lottery depending on application priority and/or application type and seat availability.

This tailored schedule ensures you can tune in at the most relevant times (MST) for your family. These times are estimates and subject to shift during the broadcast, so please make sure you tune in early.

• 9:00-9:40 AM: East Valley academies (Lincoln, Chandler, and Arete)
• 9:30-10:20 AM: Scottsdale corridor schools (Cicero, Scottsdale, and Veritas)
• 10:15-10:45 AM: West Valley academies (Maryvale, Trivium, and Roosevelt)
• 10:40-11:15 AM: North Valley schools (Anthem, North Phoenix, and Glendale)
• 11:00-11:15 AM: Great Hearts Online Arizona

After the Lottery, each Great Hearts academy will extend offers to families according to their number on the waitlist to fill any anticipated available seats for the next school year. Offers are sent in writing and families are given a deadline to accept their offer and complete registration. If you do not receive an offer at that time, you will receive a waitlist position, which you may track via our Parent Portal. Additionally, offers will continue to be sent out through the school year as seats become available.
