Get to Know Veritas Prep’s 2017 Valedictorian Facebook Twitter Email This Post Veritas Preparatory Academy May 19, 2017 Lauren Murphy, Veritas Prep Valedictorian The valedictorian for the Veritas Prep class of 2017 is Miss Lauren Murphy. As a student at Veritas, Lauren has been active in athletics, competing on the Volleyball, Soccer, Golf, and Cross-Country teams over the years. She has also participated in Venture Scouting and the C.A.L.L. youth leadership program. Giving back to the community, she has done charity work with the Great Hearts Great Hands club, has worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and has given her time for peer tutoring. Lauren’s favorite quote from a Great Hearts curricular work is, “It’s silly not to hope. It’s a sin, he thought,” from Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea. Her favorite work of literature is Dostoevsky’s “The Brothers Karamazov”. Her senior thesis is titled, “On Friends of Death, On Death of Friends.” Lauren will attend Arizona State University at Barrett, the Honors College, studying Chinese.
