Giving Tuesday – Archway Glendale

Today we celebrate the Jans Family and all that they do for Archway Glendale! Mr. and Mrs. Jans have been a part of Archway Glendale for 5 years. They have two kids: a daughter in 4^th grade and a son in 1^st grade.  The Jans’ chose Archway Glendale, not just for the curriculum, but because of the way Archway Glendale incorporates the virtues they value so greatly. “We love that our children are not only learning reading, writing, and arithmetic, but how to be good humans, have compassion, integrity, and ethics.” The teachers play a vital role in their children’s lives as well. “They demonstrate daily that they want our children to be successful through their lesson plans and hold them accountable. They sacrifice their time to offer tutoring, and plan and execute after school clubs that our children are so excited to be a part of.”

Most of you have seen Mr. and Mrs. Jans around campus, both of whom have taken on several volunteer roles over the years. Both are veterans and proud to have served our country. Mr. Jans helps other veterans navigate the VA system to obtain their disability, which can be challenging for so many in their time of need; no wonder they have such giving hearts!

Mr. Jans is our Dads Club President, morning crossing guard, and can be seen on campus volunteering in many different capacities. As Dads Club President, Mr. Jans works to coordinate events such as the highly anticipated Daddy Daughter Dance, gathers volunteers for school events, and enjoys “Dads and Donuts” the last day of school. One new event Mr. Jans spearheaded is “Recess with Dads.” Once a month, dads can sign up to spend recess with their scholars. What great way to model behaviors on the playground and enjoy time with students!

Mrs. Jans is in her second year as the Foundational Events Coordinator for our PSO. She coordinates the Read-a-Thon, Holiday Appreciation, Fun Run, and Spring Fling.  She loves being involved at school knowing that she is making an impact on her children’s future. “I love the community and just being there showing my kids that what they are doing is important and that I wholeheartedly support them. Being a social person myself, I love meeting other parents and interacting with everyone!” Thank you, Jans Family!
