Giving Tuesday – Archway Lincoln

Archway Lincoln November 22, 2023

Mrs. Buehler’s #1 rule:
You aren’t allowed to tell anyone their art is bad, especially yourself.
OR
A Work of Art

Mrs. BuehlerIn Mrs. Buehler’s art class, the students are learning more than meets the eye. Yes, her art instruction is based on lessons in technique and design, but through her daily lessons she is also providing opportunities for every student to build perseverance, boost confidence, develop creativity, and improve self-understanding.

“Art is my happy place, and teaching art is a dream come true. I love that I get to use my love of art to help my young students grow. I tell my students that art can be hard, but they shouldn’t be afraid to make mistakes. I don’t expect them to create the best piece of art, but I do expect them to believe in themselves and understand that mistakes will help them learn.”

For Mrs. Buehler, the process is more important than the final product her students create. She wants all her students to know that art can be hard and sometimes it pushes us outside our comfort zone, but through practice and perseverance they can grow their skills.

“I love watching my students review their individual art portfolios at the end of the year. When they see their work from the beginning of the year and compare it to their work at the end of the year, they can’t help but feel so proud of themselves. That’s what it’s all about.”

Thank you, Mrs. Buehler for the beautiful work you do every day with your students. And thank you to ALL families who support our Community Investment campaign at Archway Lincoln. Without your partnership, we would not exist.

On this Giving Tuesday, we ask you to support our Community Investment campaign so that we can continue our work to fulfill our mission! Your gift of any amount makes a difference!
