Ms. Trujillo – Archway Glendale’s Most Tenured Faculty Member

This Giving Tuesday we would like to highlight one of our 4th grade teachers, Ms. Trujillo, our most tenured faculty member!  Ms. Trujillo has been with Great Hearts since 2012 when she started as a kindergarten TA at Maryvale. One year later she joined Archway Glendale for its inaugural year as a third-grade lead teacher. Since then, she has had the opportunity to serve in many leadership roles, including Dean of Students, Academic Dean, Instructional Coach, and a member of the Archway Glendale’s Leadership Team.

Ms. Trujillo was initially drawn to Great Hearts because of the classical liberal arts curriculum and “the emphasis on educating the whole child.” In addition, she states, “I love that our students are exposed to such a wide breadth of subjects! History, grammar, writing, phonics, poetry, literature, mathematics, art, music, PE, and Spanish. It is such a rarity in today’s world to find schools that recognize the value and importance of each of these subjects to ensure that students are exposed to them on a regular basis.”

When asked what Ms. Trujillo loves about her job, she immediately responded, “The community! The bonds formed in each classroom between students and teachers, the relationships and camaraderie among faculty who are always willing to pitch in and help one another, and the positive partnership between Archway Glendale and its families.” Further, she is extremely grateful to have a TA in every classroom. “Because there are two teachers in every room, we can fully attend to the academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of each student. Our success as a school is in large part due to our wonderful and dedicated TAs.”

We applaud Ms. Trujillo and all our Archway Glendale faculty and staff, for all they give to our school each day! Archway Glendale’s faculty and staff, community, language rich environment, classic texts, moral and character formation, and cultivation of wonder and curiosity sets us apart from other schools. Will you join us in our efforts to give back and raise $15,000 today to support Archway Glendale? By supporting our school, you are ensuring our classrooms continue to provide a tuition-free private school caliber education in a public-school setting.
