Great Hearts Harveston Girls’ Soccer Team Brings Home Inaugural Championship

Great Hearts history was made in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when the Great Hearts Harveston girls’ soccer team brought home their first-ever championship trophy, capping off an incredible season with a 7-1 record. This victory marks a dramatic turnaround from last year’s losing season, albeit their inaugural year, and establishes the team as a force to be reckoned with in their division.

This is an amazing achievement for the team, especially as this is only their second season playing. Under the leadership of Head Coach Alicia Carelus and Assistant Coach Silver Effler, the team demonstrated growth and a relentless drive to succeed.

Coach Carelus, who also serves as the academy’s founding college counselor, emphasized the importance of the support system behind the team’s success. “As a head coach, I know that a team’s success isn’t possible without a strong support system. So, I would like to give a special thank you to my incredible assistant coach, Ms. Silver Effler, our athletic director, Mr. Austin Ventura, and our parents. Their dedication, insight, support, and energy were invaluable this season.”

This achievement is a testament to their passion, leadership, and the unity of our team. We couldn’t be more excited for their success and the positive impact they’ve had on everyone involved. As we look toward the future, we’re excited to build on this incredible foundation and continue striving for even greater accomplishments!”

The players’ hard work and resilience throughout the season have set a new standard for excellence at Great Hearts Harveston. Their championship victory is a milestone and a source of inspiration for future athletes at the school. With this historic win, the team has laid a strong foundation for even greater achievements in the years to come.

Great Hearts Harveston is a growing K-9 (K-12 by 2028) academy and the first Great Hearts academy to serve families in Louisiana.
