Last Call for Great Hearts Harveston Open Enrollment

Great Hearts Harveston in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, wants prospective parents to know that the conclusion of its Open Enrollment period is Friday, December 1st, 2023, at 5:00 PM (CST). Families in Baton Rouge have until Friday to seize the opportunity and submit applications for their K-8 children to experience the exceptional education offered by this tuition-free, public charter school in the upcoming 2024-25 school year.

Open Enrollment is a critical window for families not currently attending Great Hearts Harveston to apply for the next school year. This period is the gateway for families to secure a spot for their children in this state-of-the-art academy.

Following the Open Enrollment period, the Lottery for Great Hearts Harveston is scheduled for December 6th, 2023. Every application submitted during the Open Enrollment timeframe is eligible for the Lottery. In cases where applications outnumber available seats, a fair and impartial lottery determines the waitlist order.

The Lottery assigns a random number to each application, and these applications are then ordered on the waitlist based on various factors such as the lottery number, application type, and priority status.

Great Hearts Harveston, the first Great Hearts academy in Louisiana, boasts a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility spanning over 76,000 square feet. With 39 classrooms, special education rooms, art and music rooms, a science lab, a performing arts theatre, and a collegiate-size gymnasium, this academy is designed to provide an optimal learning environment.

Head of School Sam Heisman highlights the depth of learning. “Students read whole literary and philosophical works in great depth, and they learn to approach books with a sense of wonder and depth of inquiry,” he said.
