Senior Spotlight: Moriah Irving Facebook Twitter Email This Post North Phoenix Preparatory Academy February 5, 2018 Moriah Irving is a senior who joined North Phoenix Preparatory in the 8th grade and dove right in! In addition to her academic excellence, she is known for her leadership across our community. She has led Girls’ Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field, as well participated in numerous clubs such as Speech & Debate, Yearbook, and Physics Club. She served our student body both as a Lanista (peer mentor) and on our Student Senate. She is also a tremendous youth advocate beyond our community. She won the district award for Outstanding Young Woman of Phoenix as a sophomore and was the youngest participant recognized there! She now serves as one of only six student representatives on the Phoenix Youth and Education Commission. She is passionately committed to her volunteer work with a local teen suicide prevention hotline, which has also featured her as a speaker at their annual fundraising gala and sent her as an ambassador to a national conference this winter. As a result of this work, she received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and will also receive the Bronze Medallion as a Distinguished Finalist in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. She was thrilled to receive her acceptance via Early Decision to Scripps College and looks forward to finding her home in a new community this fall. We are proud and grateful to count her among the first graduation class of North Phoenix Prep Gladiators!
