The 2025 National Symposium for Classical Education, hosted by the Great Hearts Institute, is coming soon to the Mission Palms Hotel in Tempe, Arizona, February 19-21. This year promises to be another inspiring event, making an indelible impact on attendees, like Great Hearts Forest Heights Assistant Headmaster, Suzanne Meledeo, who attended the Symposium for the first time last year. It was an experience that made a significant difference for her both personally and professionally.

“It was an amazing opportunity for me to go and engage with my colleagues in a meaningful way,” Meledeo said. From the moment she arrived, she felt energized by the chance to exchange ideas with other educators. The event included sessions on a variety of topics, such as how to make science more exciting for students and how to highlight the Beauty of a classical education.

Meledeo found the Symposium’s content very helpful. “You learn things to take to your classroom,” she explained, noting how the practical ideas from the sessions inspired her to make positive changes in her teaching. The Symposium provides tools to spark curiosity and a love of learning in students.

As an administrator, she also found the event helpful for her leadership. “I had the opportunity to become a more effective leader by attending different kinds of sessions that can give me inspiration to then go and inspire my teachers,” she said. The Symposium gave her ideas for leading her school and supporting her teachers more effectively.

Meledeo encourages all teachers and administrators to consider attending the Symposium. She described it as a, “Wonderful way to become reinvigorated as an educator.” Whether someone wants to learn more about classical education or grow as a leader, the National Symposium for Classical Education offers a lot of useful and inspiring opportunities.
