Three Sisters Give are Making a Difference with Brave Gowns

Archway Glendale and Glendale Prep December 19, 2024

A heartfelt initiative is underway thanks to the inspiring efforts of some amazing siblings who are scholars at Archway Glendale and Glendale Prep. Three Sisters Give is a nonprofit organization founded by the Hunter sisters, Maia, Laney, and Carson. Through their Brave Gowns Drive, the sisters aim to provide comfort, literally, and joy to young patients at Phoenix Children’s by providing colorful and fun hospital gowns to the hospital.

The Hunter family understands the challenges of childhood cancer on a deeply personal level. Their inspiration for the drive comes from their youngest sister, Carson, who has achieved an incredible milestone. Diagnosed with cancer at just seven years old, Carson has since been declared cancer-free. The experience, however, left a profound mark on her and the entire family. Grateful for the abundance of community support they received during her treatment, the sisters are now determined to give back in a way that truly makes a difference.

Their goal for the drive was to donate to Phoenix Children’s. These aren’t just ordinary hospital gowns. They are specially designed to be colorful, comfortable, and uplifting for children undergoing surgeries and scans. Featuring fun designs and encouraging words, the gowns provide a small but powerful way to brighten a child’s hospital experience. Carson said these same gowns were a huge help to her when she had long hospital stays.

“It’s really nice to help,” Carson shared, reflecting on how the project connects her to other children who are navigating similar challenges. “I think it’s really fun to be able to help children that have gone through the same thing as me.”

Their goal for the drive was to collect donations of 550 Brave Gowns. While they just recently reached that benchmark, the sisters said donations are still welcome through January 1st. They plan to deliver the donated gowns to Phoenix Children’s in February, ensuring that hundreds of children will receive a little extra comfort and care during their hospital stays. The sisters expressed their gratitude to Summer Germann, the founder of Brave Gowns, for her support throughout the project. They also acknowledged their mother, Kristi Hunter, whose organizational efforts have been instrumental in the drive’s success. Lastly, the sisters extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated, understanding the profound impact that contributions have on the lives of young patients.
