Trivium Prep Student Honored as Goodyear’s 2025 Youth Citizen of the Year Facebook Twitter Email This Post Trivium Prep March 14, 2025 Goodyear is a city in Arizona that thrives on community spirit, and each year, it shines a spotlight on those who make a real impact. This year, that honor belongs to Ameera Singh, a standout student at Trivium Prep, who has been named the 2025 Youth of the Year for her remarkable contributions. Singh’s impact on her community is undeniable. “I would describe Ameera as incredibly dedicated, responsible, hardworking, humble,” shared Dean of Students Mindy Brinker. “And she’s just continues to impress me each and every day.” As a peer mentor at Trivium Prep, she devotes her time to helping younger students, ensuring they have the guidance and support they need to thrive. In doing so, she not only helps others grow but also challenges herself to be better every day. “I always want to be able to be a mentor in my home and community for a very simple reason,” shared Signh. “People were always there for me, therefore I want to be able to give that same opportunity to all those that are younger than me.” Her dedication to mentorship extends beyond the academy. Singh actively coaches young children in various activities, including swimming. She firmly believes that swim lessons provide children with an opportunity to develop in ways beyond their home and school environments. Her passion for this work is evident, as she has been part of a swim school for two years, wholeheartedly embracing her role in helping young swimmers gain confidence and new skills. Singh’s leadership extends even further into the community as she currently serves as the chair of the Goodyear Youth Commission. “Our major role is being able to advocate for the youth all over our city. Likewise, all over the West Valley and all over our nation,” she explained. “The Goodyear Youth Commission showed me just how much this city truly means to everyone who is a part of it and just how much work our community puts in every single day.” When Singh was told she would be honored as Goodyear’s Youth Citizen of the Year, she was overjoyed. “I was just over the moon,” she recalled. “I truly love our city and everything it stands for and I’ve loved to see it grow in the way that it has over the past few years. So, to hear that the city wanted to recognize me for the work that I’ve done just meant so much.” “I think Ameera is deserving of this award because she’s so well-rounded in all the things that she does that I think she’s just the epitome of what we would want all of our youth to strive for,” added Brinker.
